Does Laser Hair Removal hurt?
Our diode laser incorporates cooling technology designed to keep the skin comfortable during treatment. Most clients tolerate treatments very well, although you may experience warmth or a mild sensation depending on the area and your individual sensitivity.
How many sessions will I need?
Every client is different. The number of sessions required depends on factors such as hair colour and thickness, treatment area, hair-growth cycle, age and hormonal influences. A course of several treatments is normally required to achieve the best reduction.
How often should I have my treatments?
Laser sessions need to follow the natural hair-growth cycle. Treatments are commonly scheduled approximately every 4–6 weeks, although your therapist will recommend the most appropriate interval for the area being treated and your individual response.
Do I need to shave before my appointment?
Yes. The treatment area should normally be shaved before your appointment according to the instructions provided by your therapist. Avoid waxing, epilating or tweezing beforehand, as these methods remove the hair from the root that the laser needs to target.
When will the treated hair fall out?
Hair does not necessarily disappear immediately after treatment. Treated hairs gradually shed following the session, and this process may continue for several days. You may initially notice what appears to be hair growth before the treated hairs naturally release.
Is Laser Hair Removal permanent?
Laser treatment provides long-lasting hair reduction, but we do not promise permanent removal of every hair. Results vary between individuals, and hormonal, genetic and other factors can influence future hair growth. Occasional maintenance sessions may therefore be beneficial.
Does laser work on blonde, grey or white hair?
Laser relies on pigment within the hair to absorb its energy. Very light blonde hair may respond less effectively, while grey and white hair generally contains insufficient pigment to be effectively targeted. We will assess your hair during your consultation.
Can men have Laser Hair Removal?
Yes. Our Laser Hair Removal treatments are available for both women and men, with a variety of facial and body areas available.
Can I have laser over a tattoo?
No. Laser Hair Removal should not be performed directly over tattoos. Please make your therapist aware of all tattoos within or close to the treatment area so they can be appropriately avoided and protected.
Can I have Laser Hair Removal if I am taking medication?
Certain medications can increase sensitivity to light or otherwise affect suitability for treatment. Please tell us about all medications, supplements and recent changes to medication during your consultation and before every session.
Can I have Laser Hair Removal during pregnancy?
As a precaution, we do not perform Laser Hair Removal during pregnancy. Please speak with our team following pregnancy regarding when it may be appropriate for you to restart your treatments.
Why do I need a patch test?
A patch test allows us to assess how your skin responds to the laser before beginning treatment. It also gives our therapist an opportunity to assess your skin and hair, discuss your expectations and determine appropriate treatment settings.
